Android:
- Go to the Main Menu and tap on Budgets
- You can either create a periodic Budget for regular transactions or a one time budget for special occasions your business might go through
- Tap on '+' in the bottom right-hand corner to add a new Budget
- Fill in the details of the Budget, make sure that you assign Labels to it and to your records so that they can be properly recognized by the system.
- You can also set up Notifications at this step, so you receive an in-app notification when your budget is overspent or at risk of overspending.
iOS:
- Go to More then Budgets
- You can either create a periodic Budget for regular transactions or a one time budget for special occasions your business might go through

- Fill in the details of the Budget, make sure that you assign Labels to it and to your records so that they can be properly recognized by the system.
- You can also set up Notifications at this step, so you receive an in-app notification when your budget is overspent or at risk of overspending.
Tip for Android users only: You can choose to display Board's Budgets and other data beginning on any day of the month you choose. Go into the Main Menu > Settings > Advanced Settings > Initial day of the month to change this setting.
iOS device doesn't have this function yet.
